After facing 1st div team Wilton United Sunday morning where we learned so much and applied ourselves so well, we were onto Rathcormac in the cup this evening who themselves are 3 divisions above us. After a cagey first 15 minutes we started to take control of the game and get some of our passing game going.
With Max in goal whose handling was great throughout and Jamie, Patrick,Roger and Callan marshalling the defence we limited Rathcormac to very little chances. Across the middle Paulie,Alex, Zach, Luke,Killian and Paul o Neil worked tirelessly trying to play football in the right areas and work it out to the wings where Eoghan and Ryan were a threat throughout. This is where the first goal came from which ended in Eoghan firing in a shot from a tight angle straight into the top corner(100% a shot Eoghan).
The 2nd wouldn’t take long to follow as Luke played a lovely through ball to Eoin Lombard whose first time finish gave the keeper no chance. The 2nd half saw us having to soak up a bit more pressure but the lads showed a lot of experience that they have gained this season and never panicked always looking dangerous with Jack and Jacob working hard up front. All in all a great performance from a team that will give u their all and are learning and improving all the time. Well done lads…
