Under-15 and Under-16 End of year party
Like as it was throughout the season, the end of season party featured 24 players across two squads of U15s first team combined with U16s. An exciting mini-world cup was held in the Glenn Resource centre where 4 teams plaid competitive 7 minute short matches in the name of Poland, Ireland, France, and Brazil.
There was a designated pitch of winners (Wembley Stadium) and a loser’s pitch (Surulere stadium) where Ireland and Poland dominated the early stages of the tournament. Two matches were being played concurrently with winners staying in Wembley stadium and losers relegated to Surulere stadium. Winners of Surulere would then move to Wembley stadium to challenge for bragging rights in that manner for 2hrs. France and Brazil grew stronger as fatigue crept in towards the end with France winning 3 matches in a row, but it was too little too late as Ireland (COYBIG) won the bragging rights coming top of the pile.
Thereafter all the players were hosted for dinner by the coaches at Supermacs where everyone left with full stomachs for a day that was filled with lots of competitive fun and friendship. Thanks to the club for covering venue costs and thanks to the U16s coaches panel of John O’Keefe and Reamon Walsh for covering dinner costs for all the kids
