U15 Founders Cup
Carrigtwohill played our neighbours Leeside in the first round of the cup in a very entertaining 70mins. On what was a heavy ground to play on due to the recent bad weather both teams created plenty of chances and it really was surprising that there was only one goal in the game which came halfway through the first half, a Sean Guiney free kick from the left wing was played to the back post where Sean Barry done well to keep it in play who then found the on rushing Mattie Hodnett to neatly finish into the bottom corner. For the remainder of the half Carrig kept possession well with some lovely link up play from Jack Liam and Conor . One nil HT .
At the start of the 2nd half Carrig wasted some great opportunities to go 2 up with Cathal Gary Sean and Callum all going close , in the closing minutes Leeside piled on the pressure winning numerous corners but Carrigs defence held firm and now we look forward to the next round which is away to Carrigaline.
Man of the match goes to Hugh Crowley who was a rock at the back and made some vital interceptions when needed
