On Sunday, we welcomed Youghal to a cold and blustery Ballyadam. Youghal got to grips with the conditions early in this game and had the better of the chances in the opening 15 minutes before scoring the opener. This kicked Carrig in to gear and started creating chances themselves. One if these resulted in a corner which fell to Sean O Sullivan who moved his feet quickly before being brought for a penalty. Cormac Horgan converted. Carrig had a chance to make it two a few mins later when a thunderous shot from Conor O’Mahoney struck the underside of the crossbar which fell to Horgan who failed to convert this time. 1-1 at the break.
The second half was fairly even throughout but Youghal got the upper hand on 55 mins following slack defending from Carrig. Andrew McMahon leveled matters on 70 when he pounced on a loose ball and rifled past the keeper. Both sides had opportunities to win this game but a draw seemed a fair result to both sides.
