League v Watergrasshill United in Skehenagh Park on Sunday 1st October 2017
Watergrasshill United 5 Carrigtwohill United 2
Scores: James Mulcahy, Ben Malito

Carrig suffered a heavy defeat to one of the early contenders in the league. Watergrasshill scored after 5 mins with possibly their first attack, a straight ball over the top caught the defence flat, then a nice lob over keeper who was caught in no mans land. Carrig played some great football and dominated the half, creating plenty of chances, James Mulcahy equalised from a corner. Carrig continued to squander chances and were punished on the stroke of halftime when a speculative strike from the edge of box bounced over Darragh in goal.

Carrig never played the football they showed in first half in the second, Watergrasshill were far better in the second half and punished a lot of poor defending and went 5-1 up before a late consolation goal from Ben Malito. A very disappointing 2nd half performance where the lads dropped the heads too easily was the difference between the sides.
