League v Ringmahon Rangers in Ringmahon Park on Friday 22nd April 2016
Ringmahon Rangers 3 Carrigtwohill United 1
Scorer –
Billy Manning.

In a very busy spell our u17 squad played their 3rd game in 6 days away to Ringmahon on Friday evening. The pace of the game was frantic from the start with Ringmahon getting the better of the early exchanges. They dominated the first 10 minutes and were 1-0 up after a break down the right wing was finished with a cross that went in at the back post. After going a goal down Carrig got their act together and worked hard to get back into the game. Philip Dorgan was on his own up front but chased everything and kept the home defence busy. He was unlucky when he connected with a cross from Gary O’Brien but his effort came back off the crossbar with the keeper beaten. Carrig equalised after a great move through the middle of the park. Brendan Twomey’s through was controlled by Manning on the run and volleyed to the roof of the net. 1-1 was a fair reflection of the game but against the run of play Ringmahon scored to lead 2-1 at the break.

The second half wasn’t as action packed as the first with both sides playing some good football and cancelling each other out. Carrig’ work rate shaded the half and their effort deserved an equaliser with Manning, McCann and Twomey all going close. At 2-1 down and only 10 minutes remaining Carrig pushed forward but were punished when Ringmahon scored with only 5 minutes remaining . 3-1 to the home side.
