Carrigtwohill United 5 Carrigaline United B 1
Scorers –
Darragh Hoare, Jamie Dunlea, Robert Adam 3.

A Cup weekend always brings a sense of excitement with the knockout nature of the match adding a little spice. Carrigtwohill United took on Carrigaline B on a sunny mild Saturday morning in perfect conditions for soccer at home in Ballyadam Park

This was a match in which Carrigtwohill took control from the start and never let go. With Jamie Dunlea playing in central midfield, Carrigtwohill created numerous chances with Jamie spreading the ball wide for Darragh Cullinane in particular who was creating havoc on the right wing. After some very close misses, Carrigtwohill opened the scoring when Darragh Hoare latched onto a loose ball on the edge of the square to steer the ball into the corner of the net. This was quickly followed by a super strike from Jamie who flicked the ball up and volleyed into the top corner. The team was playing some fluid soccer at times with Anesh in midfield and debutants Jack, Patrick, Jason and Harry contributing to a controlled performance.

The scoring was rounded off by Robert Adam who again showed his lethal streak – scoring a hat-trick in 25 minutes – the middle goal being a super team goal after a passing move and cross by Darragh Hoare was finished with a clinical finish at the near post.

A superb performance by all the players involved who look forward to the next round of the cup.
