We travelled to Whitegate for a local derby against Corkbeg on a very wet Sunday morning. After a good start we conceded a soft goal to go behind. There was chances at both ends but unfortunately for Carrig we didn’t take ours and Corkbeg did to score another two before half time to leave us 3 down @ half time.
A big 2nd half performance was asked from the boys and in fairness to them they gave there all. Having taken control of the game a great threw ball from Jack O’Regan was brilliantly finished by fellow midfielder Cillian McCarthy. As hard as the boys tried we just couldn’t get the 2nd goal that our efforts deserved. Fair play to the lads for keeping the heads-up and playing to the end.
