SAMPLE CLUB REPORT
“Neil Welch Cup v Youghal United in Ardrath Park on Saturday 24th May 2014
Youghal United 2 Carrigtwohill United 3. Scorers – Andy Makumbi, Billy Manning, Rotendo Katsamudanga. Man of the Match – Sean Mackey.
We went to Youghal for our quarter final clash and from the start our lads played very well. We had some great chances early but somehow Youghal were first to score on the 15th minute mark. Straight afterwards we had a goal disallowed for no reason when Billy’s header from a corner went straight in and a few mins later hit post. It stayed this way till half time.

At start of the second half we went all out to equalise but again Youghal somehow got their second goal. From there on in we had Youghal stuck in their box to equal. With a couple of charges and all the pressure. We finally broke down Youghal’s defence. With a great goal from Andy to put us back in contension with 8mins left. We quickly got our second goal when Billy turned their keeper to equal the game. With Youghal still shell shocked and only a few seconds left on clock Rotendo scored a great goal from outside the box to win the game for us. It was an amazing result and great credit to the team that never gave up. They deserved the win.”
