Carrigtwohill Utd Seniors welcomed Ballinhassig to Ballyadam looking to for a 2nd win in as many games after last weeks victory over Casement. Both teams started trying to get control over the game but neither could do much with the ball when they had it. Carrig however grew into the game and pressed Ballinhassig anytime they had it.
After a few attempts getting at the Ballinhassig defence, Carrig after some good work from Shane O Hanlon and Darragh McCann, got the ball to Eric O Sullivan who beat his man and crossed to Phil who finished well with a header to the centre of the goal!
Carrig were now comfortable and growing on confidence as the half came to a close, Ballinhassig had an effort from distance which was comfortably saved by Nelly to see out the half!
The 2nd half began with Carrig looking for the 2nd goal and started to create a few more chances with Kevin Cody and Michael Furlong marshalling the midfield! Billy Manning and Robert Adam were getting some joy down the right hand side but we just couldn’t find the final ball. However after good work by TJ in midfield, the ball found its way to Liam Gosnell who beat the defender and finished well with his left foot – 2-0.
Carrig now looked to kill off the game with spaces starting to appear and fresh legs on with James Furlong, Ian Murphy, Jason Walsh and Kevin Coady all coming. It was Jason Walsh who got the 3rd goal after a great assist from Kevin Daly down the left. Jason accelarated past two defenders and finished excellently into the bottom right Corner. 3-0
Carrig looked for a fourth and had a decent penalty shout turned away. Full Time and a deserved victory for the Senior team.
